TikTok Integration

In this article, we’ll integrate a TikTok data source with Y42.

TikTok is a short-form, video-sharing app that allows users to create and share 15-second videos, on any topic. Use the TikTok integration to track high-priority advertising metrics so your Marketing team can understand how TikTok users are interacting with your company's promotional videos. Track how much your brand is spending and what actions users take as a result of seeing your ads.

Overview

Authentication: OAuth
Settings: Historical Date selection
Schema type: Fixed
Update Type: Full import

Authentication

OAuth doesn’t share password data but instead uses authorization tokens to prove an identity between you and the service provider. OAuth is an authentication protocol that allows you to approve one application interacting with another on your behalf without giving away your password. For instance, when you tell Facebook that it’s OK for another application or website to access your profile. To sum up, you only need to have an existing account to authorize the access.

Import Settings

By default, the historical date will be set to one year ago. Refer to your own data source to decide from which exact date you would want to retrieve data.

After logging in to your TikTok account and authorizing Y42 you can decide which reports and datasets to import to Y42.

Schema

You can find the full list of available reports and their columns/dimensions/metrics you are able to import to your Y42 instance on TikTok's Marketing API documentation

Updating your data

For this source you can schedule full imports. Every time the source updates it will fully sync all your data. You have the option of scheduling updates by the month, weeks, days, and even by the hour.
