Facebook Ads Raw Data Guide

This guide shows you how to use the raw data coming from this specific data source APIs, so we can support you achieve your reporting needs. In this guide, some recommendations are provided as well as examples of use cases for the most commonly used fields. Note: There may be several ways to achieve the use cases that has been indicated below, but these columns are the ones commonly used for most of the use cases we've encountered.

Provides insights on your advertising performance. Allows for deduped metrics across child objects, sorting of metrics, and async reporting.

account_name

The name of your ad account, which groups your advertising activity. Your ad account includes your campaigns, ads and billing.

The unique ID of the ad you're viewing in reporting.

adset_name

The name of the ad set you're viewing in reporting. An ad set is a group of ads that share the same budget, schedule, delivery optimization and targeting.

campaign_id

The unique ID number of the ad campaign you're viewing in reporting. Your campaign contains ad sets and ads

ads_insights

campaign_name

The name of the ad campaign you're viewing in reporting. Your campaign contains ad sets and ads

ads_insights

clicks

The number of clicks on your ads.

Measure the amount of clicks generated by a specific ad, adgroup or campaign

ads_insights

spend

The estimated total amount of money you've spent on your campaign, ad set or ad during its schedule. This metric is estimated.

Measure the amount you spent on advertising, for calculating ROAS, etc.

ads_insights

date_start

The start date for your data. This is controlled by the date range you've selected for your reporting view.

For analyzing ad performance overtime, grouping by metrics by time frames, or joining on sales data for a daily summary analysis and other advanced analysis.

impressions

The number of times your ads were on screen

It can be used for calculating the CTR, among other conversion rates.
